BOARD BUZZ
At its meeting on September
14, the Rebels Board discussed these important issues:
*Meet Me In St. Louis Swing Dance Championships this weekend beginning with our kick-off dance
Thursday night. John Lindo’s workshop
starts at 7pm, with open dancing to follow.
Be sure to ask our out-of-town guests to dance.
Spectator/Nondancer
$15, this does not include watching workshops.
Evening
Dance pass $25, does not include any workshops.
All
day $50, includes everything for that day.
There
will be a Friday midnight Pizza Party-must have full Weekend Pass wristband.
*The report from Lisa, our
bookkeeper, was very positive. The club
is in good shape financially.
* Pro line-up for 2010. Heather is still gathering information on who
is interested and available, their fees for the weekend and for private
lessons.
*New Year’s Eve Party
information from Rick & Lisa. It will be a Mafia Wars theme. What is
your Mafia name? Plan to attend the
Rebel’s New Year’s Eve Party at the Stratford dressed as your favorite Mafia
character. More information to follow. Price will include dinner and champagne.
*Out of town events. Do you travel to dance competitions? Would you like to? Do you need information on which events are
coming up? Talk to any of the board
members about the benefits of attending these events. Watch for sign up lists in the future.
Next event is the Tulsa Fall
Fling, hosted by Jeanne DeGeyter, October 15-18. Then Swing City Chicago, October 29-November
1. Talk to Ross or Keith for more
information.
*Effective immediately, we
will be issuing armbands to all dancers on Friday nights. This more effectively allows participants to
come and go without being stopped at the door each time. Non-dancing spectators will not need to
purchase an armband.
*And as always, we encourage
everyone to help the volunteer board members by clearing your own trash from
tables on Friday night.
